iILA is an audio reactive speaker that is designed to create a more immersive listening experience through the use of visual and tactile interaction.
With its unconventional looks, iILA is a speaker that is designed to react and respond to the music that is being played, providing a new sensory experience. By rippling and reacting to your music it creates a more personal and immersive experience, allowing you to listen and watch your favourite songs and artists.
The wall mounted design challenges our perception of what a speaker is. With the wall mounted design, IILA can be situated on the Feature Wall within the home and blend in like a piece of art. Whether it is the living room, dining room or bedroom, the flexibility to customise and tailor IILA creates an original, personal and immersive experience.
THE IDEA : Audio Visualisation Exploration
This video showcases the various experiments I did to explore different mediums music / audio can be visualised. The purpose of the video and experiments was to gain a better understanding of linking music to a visual response and help lead the design direction for the project.

Programs and software used: Adobe Suite, Pr & Ae, Processing, Arduino
HOW IT WORKS
No matter music you are listening to, the visual response is always different. Whether it is something with a heavy beat or soft orchestral tones. The rippling wave-like effect creates a unique physical form that allows you to watch and immerse yourself into the music.
THE INTERACTION
Creating a connection between the user and the music.
With the use of textured, capacitive touch fabric. The control module allows for you to get up close and physically interact with the speaker. By doing so it brings back the personal connection we have to the music, enabling you to manipulate and personally control the way you want to listen.
WEBSITE
Although iILA is a conceptual product, I wanted to explore the commercial viability and how this product would be selected and customised by the consumer. I created a mock-up website where all the elements within iILA can be chosen and tailored to each individuals liking.
